I am a Licenced Associate Clinical Psychologist that has successfully completed my doctoral studies with an emphasis on trauma. I work with the REVAMP Centre at St. Joseph’s hospital (weekends) where I perform supervised neuropsychological assessments, and behavioural modification for patients who have had traumatic brain injuries. I am the Associate Clinical Psychologist at the Rehabilitation Institute of the Caribbean. I am also the clinical psychologist working with a company based in Belize as well as the Beijing/ Jamaica Embassy in China. In my private practice I see a range of clients, both adults and children . Specifically, I create treatment plans for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I hold a diploma in Ministerial Studies and another in Psychology, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology, and a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Psychology and certification as an Autism Spectrum Disorder Informed Therapist. My undergraduate degree encapsulated research on levels of PTSD in the police force based on rank and gender. My masters research paper addressed resilience of children in state care. The doctoral project centres around stroke and levels of PTSD in patients.
Ms. Janice A. Lucas is an associate clinical psychologist with an MSc. in Clinical Psychology earned from the University of the West Indies, Mona in 2020. She also has professional certification in Crisis, Trauma and Grief Counselling earned from the Northern Caribbean University in 2021. Ms. Lucas has seen clients battling with depression and anxiety but is open to clients experiencing other challenges. She is a member of the Jamaica Psychological Society and the American Psychological Association.
Alexia Blair is a speech-language pathologist who enjoys working with children and adults who have communication and swallowing impairments. She attended Nazareth College in Rochester, New York for undergraduate studies and the University of North Carolina Greensboro in Greensboro, North Carolina for graduate studies. Alexia has worked in schools, skilled nursing facilities, and hospitals. She is the director of Hello! Speech Therapy Ltd. She is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association and the Jamaica Speech and Hearing Association. Her areas of clinical interest include augmentative and alternative communication, articulation, autism spectrum disorders, dementia, dysphagia/swallowing, fluency/stuttering, and stroke rehabilitation.
Ms. Brittney Aiken, MA, CCC-SLP is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist who received a Master of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (United States) in 2012. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2009. Brittney has earned the following certifications: Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Melodic Based Communication Training, and Beckman Oral Motor Protocol. Her areas of specialty are early intervention, autism spectrum disorder, alternative and augmentative communication, and parent coaching. Brittney’s speech-language pathology services provide the options of assessments, treatment plans, intervention services, parent/caregiver coaching during intervention sessions, and carry-over/generalization homework packages. Intervention services can be delivered to the office or at the child’s home upon approved request. The component that makes Brittney’s speech therapy unique is an amplified emphasis of equipping the parent and caregivers with strategies/ skills to self-help the child outside of the speech therapy session, which usually yields an increase of progression rate. Her goal is to help the child, but also to provide knowledge to the village that supports the child. She understands that communication is a survival skill, which is needed for one to successfully thrive in this world. Her true passion is sharing light around the world through speech therapy.
